Seattle7s and Seattle5s dust off the rides.
It was short notice, only 4 days but some of the guys were really itching to have a meet. The winter had been a long and boring one for some and the thoughts of meeting up with fellow bimmer lovers for coffee and chit chat with the possibility of going on a short drive was just too much for some to bare.
It was a foggy morning that gave way to the sun as we pulled into the lot of our favorite meeting place, the Issaquah Starbucks.

Attendance was expected to be low with such a short notice but to our surprise 15 cars showed up.

We were excited to be in a group and to share our latest successes and even some of our failures.

We were eager to learn a new trick from someone's success but just as eager to learn from someone else's mistake.

Laszlo Szelecki, a new Seattle7 member received some great assistance from our Chief Technology Officer Dave Clement who took some time out to trouble shoot some problems with Laszlo's nav system.

For almost a year Matthew Mar had the only Metallic Anthracite. Now we have several in the club. Here are Matthew's, Allan's and Marlin's. Yes I have walked to the wrong car on more than one occasion. Even Matt Atkins was asking me question when it was really Allan's car!

Some of the members wanted to hit the Euro Fest Show www.eurofestnw.com down at the Puyullup Fair grounds where our Seattle5 Board Member Doug Haussler was one of the sponsors www.euroautosolutions.com and had a booth set up Doug's booth . Some wanted to go on a drive so while others wanted to get something to eat so we decided to find some twisty back roads that would take us to Euro Fest and stop along the way to get something to eat. Other members stopped by just for coffee and had other engagements.
With no mapped out route or any road maps for that area we were truly going on a "road adventure". We didn't want to use the nav systems in the cars because we wanted the most twisted and back country roads we could find.

Matthew Mar started us out taking us from Issaquah, up and over Cougar Mountain and into Hobart
but once further South he pulled over and handed the reins over to Tom and Pam Farrel who lived towards the South and would have a better idea on where to go.

Tom and Pam did a wonderful job by taking us through Black Diamond #32 into Enumclaw

where we pulled over to "Fallgreens Garden Grill" for lunch.

The food was great and for $7 you received a huge sandwich with a mountain of fries. Tom could not finish his sandwich and the salad Pam had was so big half of it was left! Definitely a place to go for the hearty eaters!

These little kinds of diners are great and make the adventure even more fun. If ever in Enumclaw and looking for a place to eat this is a sure bet located at 1343 Cole Street, 360.825-3600. Even little Rachel was having a great time!

After lunch Michael Mahoney and Allan Stevens had to head home but the rest of us were determined to make the Puyallup Fair grounds. Tom and Pam took us further south until they had to break off towards home but not before pointing us in the right direction.
The route was beautiful and took us close to Mount Rainier.

We pulled over and some of took some shots of the great view. Matt Atkins could have chosen a better place to pull over other than the drive way to a KC's Paintball ranch! A truck pulled in and Matt had to drive all the way down the ΒΌ mile driveway before he could turn around!

It was worth it to see Mt Rainier in all her beauty and splendor.

Once in Orting we knew we were getting close but still not 100% sure which way Puyallup was so we drove a bit before heading in the right direction. We arrive in Puyallup around 3:30 PM but learned that the Euro Fest ended at 4 PM, oops! Our hopes of seeing Doug was dashed in a heartbeat. Hmmmmm maybe we shouldn't have let Matt Atkins lead?
We decided to hit a Starbucks up for coffee and once there we settled in to some fine java and shared some more stories along with ideas about Bimmerfest and plans on going down there. We called Doug and lift a VM hoping to hook up to learn what we missed. Unfortunately Doug was stuck breaking down and loading out so his night was a full one.
We headed out and decided to go home but on the way Jeremy suggested we go eat Sushi before getting some shut eye. A brief call out on the radios and everyone was game. We headed back to Seattle.
Lisa and Jeff Kaizuka owners of "Kaizuka Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar"

along with the staff were as courteous and helpful as usual. A small restaurant with huge service and even bigger taste!

Jeff cooked on the grill right in front of us and put on a great show.

Matt Atkins sashimi was beautifully arranged

but the Sushi wasn't taking a back seat.

Garrett never used chopsticks before

but Matt Atkins gave him a quick lesson. We didn't want to see Garret starve!

Success with the Calimari!!!

The food was absolutely wonderful...

...the entertainment was great...

...and the company even better. Highly recommend you visit Lisa and Jeff if looking for good quality Sushi, located at 1306 S. King Street, 206.860-1556. We could not have asked for a more complete day.
